How a Waldviertel native was “awarded” the Oscar

Austrian chef Bernhard Zimmerl was up close and personal at the Oscar night in Los Angeles. Right next to the first catering stand of the top chefs, where he was also present, the Oscars were engraved. The 32-year-old tells the "Krone" what he experienced with the stars that night.

Exhausted and overjoyed - that's how the Waldviertel top chef Bernhard Zimmerl felt when the "Krone" was able to reach him on the phone in Los Angeles. "Everyone who has won an Oscar has had to stop by our place," says the two-toque chef about the Hollywood night of nights. The 32-year-old and elite chef friend Mike Köberl were even "awarded" an Oscar (see picture below).
