Tour underestimated: duo panicked at the summit

A German couple apparently completely underestimated the tour to the Seekarspitze on Lake Achensee in Tyrol. It even got to the point where the woman crawled through the deep snow and despaired. The couple may have to pay for the cost of the rescue themselves. 

A 28-year-old man and his 23-year-old partner set off on an ambitious winter hike in Achenkirch on Monday. The two Germans had apparently planned to cross the Seekarspitze (2052 m) - but the plan went completely awry in the Föhn storm, as reported. The "Krone" now has even more details of the mission and the possible consequences.
