Drunk driver “set” car against crash barrier

A 25-year-old local woman was too drunk when she got behind the wheel of a car in Ötztal. The drive ended in an accident and the woman developed a headache during the breathalyzer test.

The accident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning, as the police have only now announced. At around 4.30 am, the local woman was driving the car on the Ötztalstraße from Sölden in the direction of Längenfeld. The car touched the crash barrier, began to skid and came to a standstill after around 30 meters.

Headache during alcohol test
The woman appeared to have remained uninjured in the accident, but when the police wanted to carry out a breathalyzer test, she complained of an incipient headache and sore throat. The officers called the emergency services, who took the woman to Zams hospital for further assessment.

Significantly intoxicated
There she was examined and a subsequent alcohol test revealed a considerable level of alcoholization. The car sustained considerable damage. The woman will be reported to the police.
