The compatriots chose their “Upper Austrian”

There has been a "Landesanzug" for 90 years. Yesterday, the fourth cutting-edge design of this men's costume was presented in Linz. Visitors to the Linz Castle Museum were spoiled for choice, with six designs on display. Now it's clear: the new "Upper Austrian" comes from designer Konstanze Marko.

Traditional costume is experiencing an incredible boom. That's why OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH set out to find a new "Landesanzug" - a cutting-edge traditional costume for men.

Six designs by top designers have been on display at the Linz Castle Museum since October last year, and visitors were able to vote for their favorite - we reported on it. A jury also took a look at the designs. Yesterday, the secret was finally revealed at the castle museum.

 Upper Austria is inside
It is now clear what a man should definitely have in his closet: the dark blue "Upper Austrian" by Konstanze Marko, a Salzburg fashion designer who studied in Linz and London.

She brought together local fabrics, traditional embroidery patterns and processing techniques from the Land ob der Enns. Dipped in a blue print bath, the fabrics for the suit develop a strong effect. However, it will still be a few months before series production begins. But there is already an everyday version in the design.

The traditional costume is a nod to the tradition of our clothing culture. I hope that the new suit will also be worn with pleasure.

The ladies' outfit is still being worked on
The ladies are also to get a new provincial costume, including a dirndl. OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH is already in the middle of preparations for the "Upper Austrian".
