Waller out for two months due to meniscus injury

Martin Ermacora and Philipp Waller's last beach volleyball season together is not under a good star!

After the Tyrolean Ermacora missed the Nations Cup for an Olympic ticket and the Vienna tournament in his announced final year of his career due to a torn patallas tendon suffered in May and is still not fit, Waller has now also been hit. The Styrian suffered meniscus damage to his knee in training on Tuesday.

Waller underwent surgery on Wednesday
Waller was operated on by ÖVV team doctor Lukas Brandner on Wednesday and could be back on court in around two months after a period on crutches and a slight build-up. By then, the date for Ermacora's planned last tournament in Innsbruck in four weeks' time will already have passed.

Waller recently reached the round of 16 with Timo Hammarberg at the European Championships in the Netherlands, and on Wednesday Hammarberg and Tim Berger competed in the qualifying round of the Elite 16 tournament in Hamburg - as did several other ÖVV pairs. Dorina and Ronja Klinger are in the main draw.
