Turin drug dealers built submarine for trafficking

Police in Turin have arrested two drug dealers who had built a small remote-controlled submarine for their trade. The drugs were to be transported by sea to international waters.

The underwater vehicle was tested in a lake near Turin, but was not yet ready for use, according to the police. In future, it was to be controlled remotely via the internet. The group also used cars with self-made double floors to smuggle cocaine, which was also imported from Spain and France.

The cocaine came from Ecuador and was transported to Belgium, France, Albania, Spain and Italy. The police became aware of the Italian-Albanian criminal organization while investigating car wash operators. They were cultivating marijuana near Turin.

200 kilograms of drugs confiscated
The police arrested six people in this connection, three of them abroad. In addition, more than 200 kilograms of marijuana, hashish and cocaine were seized.
