Felipe gives health update
In the meantime, Felipe has also commented on the hospital stay after visiting his mother in hospital. "She is doing very well, she is in good spirits and is looking forward to being discharged," he told the press from his car, as reported by the Spanish newspaper "Hola!".
Sources within the palace also reported that the former queen's condition was "very stable and positive". The 85-year-old is "under observation".
Rare public appearance on Monday
On Monday, Sofía had attended a funeral in Madrid together with her husband, the former King Juan Carlos. Joint public appearances have been rare for years. It is not yet clear when the mother of the current king will be able to leave the Ruber Internacional clinic and will depend on the progress of her recovery, the royal family emphasized.
