Austria's largest photovoltaic plant is located in the northern Weinviertel: it is operated by the Jungbunzlauer company. Manager Josef Gaß explains to the "Krone" newspaper why the 40-hectare site not only relieves the regional electricity grids, but also benefits the local environment.

The report on the commissioning of Austria's largest PV plant was followed by heated debates - both pro and con. After all, 84,000 PV modules here generate the annual electricity consumption equivalent to around 16,000 households. And that requires space - specifically 40 hectares, the equivalent of 56 soccer pitches. However, the operators do not want to know anything about excessive land consumption.
