"Krone" one-dish menu
Now it’s getting exotic: Asian dumplings
Every week we present you with a dish - simply prepared and with just a few ingredients. The video is also available on our social media channels to make it even easier to cook. On the menu this week: Asian dumplings.
In Asia, the popular dumplings are served at any time of day. In the Aelium restaurant in St. Pölten, the dish is not served for breakfast, but as a soup garnish.
You only need a few ingredients for the dough: 250 g flour, 130 g water and a pinch of salt. Top chef Christoph Vogler fills the dumplings with minced meat. He adds Chinese cabbage, onion, garlic and chives as well as coriander, Japanese mountain pepper, white pepper, ginger and sesame oil for a spicy taste.
Filling the dumplings
The next step is to cut out and fill the pastry - Vogler gives you step-by-step instructions in the video. The dumplings are then fried in sesame oil and water is poured over them until it evaporates.
The dumplings will be served in the Aelium next week (week 3) as a soup. Enjoy your meal!
