Pensioner (91) died in apartment fire in Vienna

Early Monday morning, a serious apartment fire broke out in Vienna-Floridsdorf. A 91-year-old woman died as a result.

The apartment fire broke out at around 8 a.m. in an apartment building. Attentive witnesses immediately alerted the police, the Vienna Professional Fire Brigade and several teams from the Vienna Professional Rescue Service.

All help came too late
The alerted professional fire department quickly extinguished the fire with an extinguishing line. Despite the rapid extinguishing operation inside the apartment, the woman died on the spot. A technical defect is believed to be responsible for the cause of the fire.
