“That would be the end of Rapids’ season”

After the thrilling 2:1 win against Banja Luka, Rapids' European Cup dream continues. However, the next "final" awaits on Sunday, this time in the league. Missing out on the top six "would mean the end of Rapid's season", says "Krone" reporter Rainer Bortenschlager in an interview with krone.at editor Mario Drexler (video above).

Rapid are through to the quarter-finals of the Conference League! They now face Djurgarden (twelve-time Swedish champions). "An opponent at eye level," says Bortenschlager.

But there is already a lot at stake on Sunday. At the end of the first round of the Bundesliga, a clash with GAK awaits at the Allianz Stadion, and only a win will secure Rapid a place in the championship group.

Klauß: "... then I can enjoy promotion"
"I'll only be able to really enjoy promotion if we win against GAK. It's about the championship, that's our core business," said Rapid coach Robert Klauß, who is also aware of the importance of the match.
