Lieserschlucht now closed for months

As of February 10, the B99 through the Lieserschlucht gorge is closed to all traffic. The multi-million euro cycle path construction project is entering the next round. 

The Lieserschlucht gorge is expected to be impassable until June. This is because the challenging cycle path work in the gorge along the B99 will continue, as we have reported. The cycle path, which is due to be completed in 2028, will rise above the Lieser river. And on the so-called cantilever slabs (picture below).

Further closures

• Total closure: beginning of February to end of May, beginning of October to end of November:
• Partial closure: June, December and January. One-way regulation from Spittal in the direction of Seeboden, detour via L10 for the direction of Spittal
• No closure: July, August, September

A bypass has been set up due to the closure. This runs via Fratres. However, trucks and cyclists are prohibited from driving here during this time.
