Helmut Jasbar: Opera about the raging of the world

An unusual opera had its world premiere at the Musiktheater in Linz. Hermann Schneider staged "Unsere Kinder der Nacht" by the Viennese composer Helmut Jasbar. Jasbar wrote a work of new music for a small number of soloists and a 40-strong children's and youth choir. You look into a classroom, in front of and behind it a world between dream and reality.

The orchestra stomps, wheezes, howls and cries. Children sit on the stage. But: "It's not a children's opera," emphasizes composer Helmut Jasbar. He is known to everyone who listens to Radio Ö 1 as the host of the RadioCafé at the "Klassik-Treffpunkt". But he also performs as a musician and composer.
