Lost control: man lands his car in the snow

Spectacular accident on Tuesday evening in the Tyrolean lowlands: a 27-year-old local man lost control of his car, left the Loferer Straße (B178) and crashed over the adjacent slope. The driver was able to free himself and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The accident happened at around 7.15 pm. According to the police, the 27-year-old was driving his car on the B178 from Scheffau in the direction of Söll when he lost control of the car for reasons that are still unknown.

Crashed into the adjacent ditch
"The vehicle went over the right-hand edge of the road, skidded over the crash barrier there and crashed around ten meters into the adjacent ditch before coming to a standstill," say investigators.

Driver taken to hospital by ambulance
The driver was able to free himself from the car. After first aid at the scene, the man was taken to Kufstein Hospital by ambulance for further examination. 

During the accident investigation, only one lane of the B178 could be used. The Söll fire department with five vehicles and 40 members, the ambulance and emergency doctor as well as the police were deployed.
