Admira Dornbirn clubhouse completely burnt down

A devastating fire completely destroyed the clubhouse of the traditional Vorarlberg club Admira Dornbirn on Monday night. The only good news is that no one was injured. 

A picture of devastation presented itself on Monday morning in the Dornbirn district of Rohrbach. The clubhouse of Admira Dornbirn, which is also used by a baseball club, burnt down to the ground. 

The fire probably started in the entrance area, and the flames then spread to the wooden façade of the building within a few minutes. With ten vehicles and over 70 firefighters, the fire department attempted to contain the blaze - and ultimately succeeded. However, the clubhouse itself could no longer be saved.

No people injured
The good news: there were no people in the building at the time of the fire. The emergency services were also all unharmed - even though several small gas containers had exploded.

The cause of the fire can only be guessed at the moment; investigators are already on site. 

20 teams without shelter
The exact amount of damage cannot yet be quantified either. The fact is that the traditional club is now completely naked: All balls, kits, showers and the entire interior were destroyed in the flames and around 20 teams no longer have a place to train. Admira chairman Gerhard Ritter is now hoping for support from the city. Deputy Mayor Julian Fässler has already taken action. He emphasizes that the other Dornbirn clubs have agreed to provide rooms and training facilities. "And we will get to work very quickly to build the new clubhouse," assures Fässler.
