Paraglider pilot (46) broke both legs

A German woman was seriously injured on Saturday while flying with a paraglider. The 46-year-old had an accident when she wanted to fly from the Schlenken summit in the direction of Kuchl (Salzburg).

At midday on Saturday, a German woman took off with her paraglider from the Schlenkengipfel (municipality of Bad Vigaun) in the direction of Kuchl. Shortly after take-off, she made an unintentional steering movement towards the summit slope, according to the police. The 46-year-old then crashed into the slope below the summit.

The pilot broke both her legs in the accident. She was rescued by the Martin 1 rescue helicopter and taken to Salzburg University Hospital.
