Austria takes silver, bronze at triathlon world championships

At the end of the season, the two para-athletes Florian Brungraber and Thomas Frühwirth once again made a big impression.

At the Triathlon World Championships in Torremolinos (Spain), Brungraber took silver in the 750 m swimming, 20 km handbike and 5 km racing wheelchair events, while bronze went to Austria's "Para-athlete of the Year" Frühwirth. Only the Dutch dominator Jetze Plat was out of reach for the pair.

This marked the end of a highly successful year for the red-white-red duo. Brungraber had won triathlon silver at both the Paralympics and the European Championships. Frühwirth decorated himself at the Paralympics with handbike silver in both the individual time trial and the road race, and at the World Cycling Championships he won gold in the time trial and silver in the road race.
