Even though he may be a team sportsman, this award belongs to him alone: handball team goalkeeper Constantin Möstl has been named "Rising Star of the Year" at the Lotterien Sporthilfe Gala in the Wiener Stadthalle!

While in other categories, such as "Sportsman of the Year" or "Sportswoman of the Year", the members of the sports journalists' association Sports Media Austria (SMA) decided on the weal and woe of the candidates, Möstl prevailed directly with the fans in a public vote, including on krone.at.

The 24-year-old, who moved from HC Hard in Germany's Bundesliga to TBV Lemgo this summer, had driven his opponents to despair and the red-white-red fans to jubilation with his saves as goalkeeper for Austria's selection this January. With a total of 81 saves, the Viennese was the best goalkeeper of the tournament and was named "Player Of The Match" four times during the European Championships.
