Bottle caps: Which alternatives would be better?

For environmental reasons, since an EU directive came into force at the beginning of July, permanently attached lids have been mandatory for certain drinks bottles. This is intended to reduce environmental pollution caused by discarded lids and facilitate recycling. What do you think of the new caps and what alternatives can you think of in terms of environmental protection? We look forward to your input!

Apart from the sometimes questionable usefulness, these lids are a nuisance for many people. They are perceived as impractical and are sometimes difficult to get used to. One possible alternative would be lids made from biodegradable materials, which do not cause any harm if they end up in nature. Other closure mechanisms that are easier to handle could also be a solution.
