Drugs obtained with forged prescriptions

Hundreds of forged prescriptions and medicines as well as cannabis were seized during a house search. A woman from Lavanttal is suspected of having sold the drugs in the drug trade.

The St. Andrä im Lavanttal police inspectorate was able to prove that a 25-year-old woman from the Wolfsberg district had been producing forged health insurance prescriptions. The woman is suspected of having obtained drugs from various pharmacies in Austria using specially prepared cash register prescriptions, at least in the period from the end of February 2024 to mid-March of this year.

She also obtained the personal details of other known accomplices in order to be able to fill the forged prescriptions. She then sold the drugs in the drug trade.

During a house search, a total of 267 forged and pre-printed health insurance prescriptions as well as 736 different prescription drugs and a small quantity of cannabis and opiates were seized. According to the current state of the investigation, the woman has generated proceeds of several thousand euros by selling the drugs. The investigation is still ongoing.
