Speeding 78 km/h too fast: motorcycle confiscated

The Tyrolean police carried out speed checks on the Eibergstraße near Söll on Tuesday afternoon. A motorcyclist (63) was measured to be traveling at a speed far in excess of the speed limit. The police took up the pursuit of the speeding driver. 

Shortly before 5 p.m., the 63-year-old and his motorcycle came into the police's sights. The Austrian was measured at a speed of no less than 153 km/h in a 70 km/h zone. "After deducting the tolerance, the speeding offense amounted to 78 km/h," explained the police.

The officers took up the pursuit of the speeding driver and stopped him shortly afterwards. The 63-year-old's driver's license and motorcycle were confiscated on the spot. A report to the district authority followed.
