Tragic scenes occurred on Sunday when at least four perpetrators invaded the small Waldviertel town of Drosendorf in Lower Austria and attempted to blow up two ATMs. The "Krone" newspaper has now spoken to the head of the town, who does not rule out the possibility that the second explosion could have claimed lives.

Mayor Robert Feldmann is convinced: "If the local resident had not fired, the perpetrators would have blown up the ATM of the savings bank as well as the Raiffeisenkasse." He describes "war-like" scenes that took place at four o'clock in the morning on Sunday in the center of Drosendorf.
