Nine people killed in Russian attacks in Ukraine

At least nine people have been killed and almost 50 others injured in Russian attacks in Ukraine. "Every town and village in the Donetsk region is under constant threat from enemy attacks," wrote Governor Vadym Filashkin on Telegram.

According to Moscow, Russian troops have also captured another town in the region in eastern Ukraine. The Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions had already been annexed by Russian authorities in September 2022.

The Sumy region is also currently being shelled almost daily from Russian positions on the other side of the border. According to local authorities, the electricity and water supply has been interrupted and the public broadcaster Suspilne reported several explosions in the city.

Residential buildings and stores damaged
Another attack occurred in the south-western village of Komar. According to Ukrainian reports, Russian forces dropped three guided bombs, killing a 32-year-old woman and injuring 20 other people. In addition, two residential buildings and infrastructure facilities, four stores and several private homes were damaged.

Fuel depots on fire
On Saturday night, both sides also attacked each other with drones and caused damage in their respective countries. The Russian soldiers are said to have attacked twelve Ukrainian regions, a large number of which were shot down, according to Ukrainian reports.

On the other side, debris set fire to fuel depots and damaged a radio tower, according to a statement from the regional crisis management team. The drones themselves were shot down. The reports of the warring parties often cannot be independently verified.
