Vienna: Ex-FPÖ politician pelted with glass outside a pub

At midday on Tuesday, ex-FPÖ politician Johann Gudenus was pelted with a glass by two people, a man and a woman apparently of Turkish origin, in a pub in Vienna's city center. Prior to this, wild insults are said to have been directed at him.

The ex-politician had met with two business partners in the garden of a Viennese restaurant. A short time later, the two suspects suddenly appeared and "derogatory insults" were hurled at him. Then a glass was thrown in the direction of the ex-politician, which shattered into several pieces on his table.

The ex-politician then shared a video on social media showing a broken glass on the pub table. "The fact that it doesn't always have to be Favoriten, but that it's enough to be out and about somewhere in Vienna, is shown by the glass thrown at me and my business partners this lunchtime in Vienna city center after they had let loose naughty tirades," he wrote about the video on Facebook.

"According to information from Krone, the two alleged glass-throwers will now be charged.
