Bayern mourns the loss of long-time Kondi coach

FC Bayern is in mourning. Thomas Wilhelmi, long-time rehab and conditioning coach of the German record champions, passed away after a long illness at the age of 57.

"Our entire club and not least the coaching team and the team, with whom Thomas Wilhelmi worked so intensively for so long, are in deep mourning. Thomas Wilhelmi loved and lived FC Bayern and his profession," said club boss Jan-Christian Dreesen.

Wilhelmi joined Bayern from Bayer Leverkusen in 2007. There he worked with head coaches Jupp Heynckes, Pep Guardiola, Louis van Gaal and, most recently, Thomas Tuchel.
