Water quality of Salzburg’s lakes is top

An inspection of Salzburg's lakes has once again confirmed this: The water quality of the local waters is excellent. Only Carinthia is slightly better in a comparison of the federal states.

Although Salzburg's lakes are still quite fresh, the temperature of the water will rise quickly in the coming days due to the weather. Then there will be nothing standing in the way of bathing fun, as the current quality tests show that 92 percent of the local bathing lakes have excellent water quality.

Only the Fuschlsee, Wolfgangsee and Seewaldsee lakes do not receive the highest rating, but are rated "good". Better water quality can only be found in Carinthia: 100 percent "Excellent".

The Agency for Food Safety and Health (AGES) carried out the first of five water quality analyses at around 40 measuring points on a total of 24 Salzburg lakes at the beginning of June.
