Green light for Hirscher! FIS confirms change

Everything is set for Marcel Hirscher's first ski season under the Dutch flag. The FIS has officially confirmed the Salzburg native's change of nation.

Lucas Braathen (Brazil) and Lajla Lapanja (Slovenia) have also received their go-ahead for the 2024/25 season. 

Long road back to the top of the World Cup
Hirscher, who had actually declared his career over in 2019, will compete for the Netherlands, the country where his mother Sylvia was born. Initially, he plans to compete in FIS races, giant slalom and slalom - where the main aim is to collect FIS points. 

The eight-time overall World Cup winner wants to score his first points in New Zealand as early as August.
