Pinzgauer lost 53,000 euros through investment fraud

A 47-year-old man from Pinzgau came across a promising advertisement on the Internet. Instead of earning a lot of money, however, the man lost a small fortune.

A 47-year-old man from Pinzgau has fallen victim to an investment scam and lost around 53,000 euros. At the beginning of January, the man came across an advertisement on the internet promising a profit and contacted the company. Within a short time, he received alleged winnings and paid several amounts into two Lithuanian accounts.

At the beginning of June, an alleged employee of the European Investment Bank contacted him. In order to receive the winnings, he was supposed to transfer a sum of money in a cryptocurrency, the police reported. The 47-year-old only became suspicious after no winnings were paid out and filed a complaint.
