Regional 200: Sölden hotelier with pioneering pilot project

Sigi Grüner, sheep farmer and head of the 5-star Hotel Bergland in Sölden in the Tyrolean Ötztal, has developed his own model when it comes to regionality. He relies on products that come from a radius of 200 kilometers around the hotel.

"We took the mountain region as the center and drew a circle 200 kilometers away on the map," explains Grüner during a visit to the "Tiroler Krone". If the luxury hotel's menu says "Regional 200", then the ingredients for the dish come from a maximum distance of 200 kilometers around the hotel.
