Salzburg team celebrates after a difficult journey

St. Johann and Wals-Grünau had to contend with traffic as well as Tyrolean teams.Both returned home with three points.

Before the Regionalliga West matches between St. Johann and Wals-Grünau kicked off, the Salzburg teams already had their first duels behind them - the ones with the traffic. Both the Pongau game at Imst and the Grünau game in Schwaz were kicked off late. "We had huge problems getting there," explained Wolves coach Ernst Lottermoser.

We were much calmer in the second half and didn't play every ball forward straight away.

His team trailed 0:1 at the break. After a tactical change, however, the Wolves fired up the turbo and celebrated a 3:1 away win thanks to Ellmer and Oberkofler. "We were much calmer then, didn't play every ball forward straight away."

There was also a happy ending for the team from Grünau. Pertl and Nika, with a world-class goal, ensured a 2:1 victory. The team from Flachgau can now go into the decisive match for the last ÖFB Cup ticket against Bischofshofen - today's game in Altach has been brought forward to 2pm. "We wanted this final dahoam," said a delighted coach Knaus.
