Man in refugee accommodation threatened with knife

Several men got into a heated argument in a refugee shelter in Feldkirch on Sunday afternoon. A 33-year-old man pulled out a kitchen knife and threatened a 21-year-old resident with it.

Together with four acquaintances aged between 21 and 32, the 33-year-old, who lives in Dornbirn, had driven to the refugee accommodation in Feldkirch on Saturday. According to the police, the five men got into an argument with the 21-year-old resident. 

The 33-year-old is said to have emphasized his words with a kitchen knife and threatened the younger man. Alarmed by the violent argument, other residents of the accommodation alerted the police.

Visitors disappeared immediately
Before the police arrived, the quintet fled. However, the 33-year-old attacker had not reckoned with the police search dogs. A four-legged friend found the man near the refugee accommodation. He no longer had the knife with him. 

No one was injured in the incident. However, the Feldkirch police are investigating the 33-year-old on suspicion of aggravated assault.
