30 breeding birds burnt in hut fire

In a hut fire in Steyr (Upper Austria) on Tuesday night, 30 breeding pigeons and chickens were burnt to death. The tragedy was probably caused by a technical defect. The fire department was eventually able to extinguish the flames, but the animals were rescued too late. The extent of the damage is now being investigated.

A fire broke out in a medium-sized wooden hut in Steyr on Tuesday night. The fire department arrived at the hut, which was already fully engulfed in flames, at around 10.15 pm and quickly extinguished the fire.

All help too late for the birds
However, all help came too late for the 30 breeding birds, chickens and pigeons inside - they fell victim to the flames. The cause of the fire was probably a technical defect and the extent of the damage is now being investigated.
