May brings U4 closures (once again)

The green problem line - U4 - is split on two weekends. Passengers can switch to streetcars. 

Not everyone can look forward to the long weekends in May this time. Once again, public transport closures are on the agenda. The points on the U4 line in the Schottenring to Friedensbrücke section will be replaced up to and including May 12. For the duration of the work, the green problem line will be split and will not be able to run between the two stations.

Closures continue
The partial closure will also apply next weekend, from May 18 to 20 inclusive. As a replacement, the E4 streetcar will run from Schottenring to Nußdorf on the D-Wagen route. Vienna's oldest subway line has been undergoing extensive refurbishment since 2014. So far, signal boxes have been replaced, tracks renewed and stations and tunnel ceilings renovated.
