Edmonton Oilers advance to the second round

The Edmonton Oilers have once again prevailed against the Los Angeles Kings in the first play-off round of the North American Ice Hockey League (NHL). The Oilers won the home game 4:3 on Wednesday and the "best of seven" series 4:1. 

For the third year in a row, the Oilers beat the Kings and will now face either the Vancouver Canucks or the Nashville Predators. Vancouver leads 3-2.

McDavid and Draisaitl shine
Edmonton was once again able to rely on its two star forwards Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl in the series. The German Draisaitl scored two goals on Wednesday after McDavid's assist and recorded five goals and five assists in the five games against the Kings. McDavid managed twelve scoring points with one goal and eleven assists.

The Dallas Stars are still one win away from eliminating the defending champion Vegas Golden Knights. The Texans won the home game 3:2 and also have a 3:2 lead in the series.
