Showcase school project
East and South Tyrolean kids cycled to Lake Garda
Great: 216 kilometers and three days for sporty East Tyrolean and South Tyrolean secondary school pupils to get to know each other and make friends while cycling - all for the sake of future togetherness. And the "Radkrone" accompanied the young boys and girls for a while.
"It may well be that one of my pupils will one day be mayor, another may become a doctor or a policewoman or join the fire department. That's why I think it's important for the Sillian pupils to get to know their peers in the neighboring South Tyrolean community of Toblach, to form friendships so that they can later work together better across borders, as we already do in the Pustertal Valley," says Sillian secondary school principal Andreas Strasser, who, as an enthusiastic racing cyclist, has started a special school project: The boys and girls from the fourth school classes in Sillian and Toblach cycled 216 kilometers together along the Pustertal and Etsch cycle paths from Toblach to Torbole on Lake Garda and the "Radkrone" cycled a bit with them.
