Next Tuesday, the Krems Regional Court will make a preliminary decision on whether the incest perpetrator Josef Fritzl will be allowed to go free at some point. According to a new expert opinion, the chances of this are slim. And the decision as to where the now 89-year-old should spend the rest of his life has reportedly already been made.

There are not many things that Josef Fritzl has collected over the past one and a half decades - since he was imprisoned in the Krems-Stein prison in Lower Austria: a few books, a typewriter, pens, pads of paper, a few items of clothing.

According to the guards, the man sentenced to life imprisonment has packed most of it into two sports bags; after all, he is hoping to be released on Tuesday, immediately after his trial in Krems.
