Fall over stone wall ended fatally for 44-year-old woman

The slip of a 44-year-old local woman during a hike in Kramsach on Thursday had serious consequences.

The accident occurred at around 11.20 am when the hiker was descending to the parking lot of the former Sonnwendjochbahn cable car. For unknown reasons, the woman slipped on the wet forest floor in the Herrgottstein area. 

As a result, she fell around three meters over a small stone wall and remained lying injured on a forest path. The Kramsach mountain rescue team provided first aid to the casualty and the Heli 4 emergency helicopter flew the woman to Innsbruck Hospital with a suspected vertebral injury.
