Leverkusen want this million sum for Wirtz
Florian Wirtz is the absolute star player and playmaker at Bayer Leverkusen. Now managing director Fernando Carro has put a price tag on the 20-year-old.
Bayern, in particular, have set their sights on Wirtz in order to sign him. However, they would have to dig deep into their pockets to do so. "We would never let Wirtz go for less than 150 million," Carro told "Radio Marca" and announced that there would "probably" be a major player sale to finance two or three new arrivals. However, that will not be Wirtz.
Defender Piero Hincapie, for example, is said to be on the radar of several top clubs, including from England. There is talk of a transfer fee of at least 40 million euros.
Wirtz joined the "Werkself" in 2020 for a transfer fee of €200,000 from the youth ranks of FC Köln. With 17 goals and 18 assists in 42 competitive matches, the 20-year-old has also played his way into the German national team under head coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Wirtz transfer "years of work"
"The award for the Wirtz transfer must go to Simon Rolfes (sporting director, editor's note)," Carro recently told the Spanish sports newspaper "AS". "Simon has been following Flo since he was 12 or 13 years old. He had many meetings with his parents, who are also his agents. It was years of work." Which will really pay off financially in the future ...
