Delays after fire on the U3 line

At around 17:30 on Wednesday evening, smoke developed on the tracks of the U3 line between Simmering and Enkplatz stations. Nothing worked anymore. 

On Wednesday evening at around 5:30 p.m., a subway driver noticed a slight smoke development on the tracks between the U3 stations Simmering and Enkplatz in the direction of Ottakring. Wiener Linien confirmed the incident in response to an inquiry from "Krone". The fire department was alerted immediately. They were able to extinguish the smoke quickly.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The cause is currently being investigated. The U3 Enkplatz station was closed until the section of line was cleared.
