Car crashed into an ambulance
There was a head-on collision between a car and an ambulance in Carinthia on Tuesday afternoon. The accident occurred on the Gailtalstraße B111 in the municipality of Dellach an der Gail. Four people were injured, including the 80-year-old patient in the ambulance.
A 57-year-old man from the district of Spittal drove his car too far to the left on the Gailtalstraße between Höfling and St. Daniel in a long right-hand bend and crashed head-on into an oncoming rescue vehicle.
Patient was injured
The two paramedics from Gailtal, the 80-year-old patient from Lienz and the 57-year-old driver of the car were injured. The injured were taken to Villach Regional Hospital by the ambulance service.
Both vehicles sustained considerable material damage. The Gailtalstraße was closed in the area of the accident for about an hour. A detour was set up by the police. The St. Daniel and Dellach an der Gail fire departments were deployed.
