From the tavern to the stage

Rosie Sommerbauer was actually supposed to take over the family-run wine tavern in the Vienna Woods. But the trained voice coach decided to take a different path: she swapped the wine tavern tray for the microphone. The 36-year-old wants to encourage people with her lyrics. 

With the song "Hey! (this is the future calling!)", Rosie Sommerbauer proved that making music is in her blood. Together with her brother Stoffi, she won the Lower Austrian cultural region's songwriting competition last year. The sibling duo released their hit on Friday. The two grew up together with their two older sisters in the Sommerbauer family's wine tavern in Perchtoldsdorf - a well-known tavern in the Vienna Woods.
