Coach started to burn in the middle of the A1

This journey ended differently than planned: At midday on Friday, a coach started to burn on the A1 motorway shortly after the slip road towards Vienna.

On arrival at the scene, the emergency services found a smoking coach. The passengers had already been evacuated from the vehicle unharmed.

The cause of the smoke was determined to be a burst radiator pipe in the engine area. The defective bus was removed from the highway by the Thalgau volunteer fire department and the passengers were taken to the nearest rest stop in a police bus.

The operation lasted a total of two hours.
