Olympic rings to be mounted on the Eiffel Tower

The Olympic rings for the Games in Paris will be attached to the Eiffel Tower. This was announced by the president of the company operating the monument, Jean-Francois Martins. 

Work will begin at the end of the month, after the Olympic torch has left Olympia in Greece. The rings will be placed on the Seine side of the tower.

Central component
The Eiffel Tower is a central feature of the Games, marking the 38km point of the marathon and the beach volleyball event will take place at its foot. The Olympic flame will be lit at the Jardin des Tuileries, near the Louvre.
