After a soccer match at the Sepp Doll Stadium in Krems (Lower Austria), spectators noticed smoke under the benches. The entire stadium was evacuated. 

Shock at the Kremser SC soccer stadium! After a match, smoke suddenly rose from under the benches. One of the spectators immediately alerted the emergency services and set the rescue chain in motion. 

Within a few minutes, the main fire brigade arrived at the scene with two fire engines and a turntable ladder. The firefighters prepared for the worst after receiving the report. Several police patrols and the Krems Red Cross were also called to the Sepp Doll Stadium. The entire soccer stadium was evacuated until the fire department arrived.

Club members extinguished the fire
When the fire department arrived, the incident commander discovered that the flames had already been extinguished by club members using fire extinguishers. However, a re-ignition could not be ruled out, which is why the source of the fire was flooded with foam as a precaution.
