Biker skidded over crash barrier: seriously injured

Two Germans were partially injured in motorcycle accidents on the L21 near Namlos in the Tyrolean Außerfern on Sunday. A 41-year-old skidded over the crash barrier and a 27-year-old crashed down a slope.

The more serious accident occurred at around 2.20 p.m. when a 41-year-old German was driving from Namlos towards Berwang. According to witnesses, the motorcyclist is said to have suddenly righted his vehicle from an inclined position in a left-hand bend, causing him to hit the verge and crash. The man then skidded a few meters over the crash barrier before coming to rest seriously injured. 

A motorcyclist following behind and another road user administered first aid to the German until the emergency doctor arrived. The seriously injured man had to be flown by emergency helicopter to the hospital in Murnau, Germany. 

According to the witness, the man skidded a few meters over the crash barrier in the course of the fall before coming to a halt behind it.

27-year-old was startled and fell over a slope
A few minutes earlier, there had also been a crash on the L21, this time in the direction of Stanzach. A 27-year-old German was driving through a left-hand bend when a car came towards him. This startled the man so much that he went over the right-hand side of the road and subsequently crashed down a slight slope. 

The biker suffered a minor injury to his right shoulder. After first aid at the scene of the accident, the ambulance took him to hospital in Reutte.
