A lot of new things await in the Prater this year

The new "Mirage" attraction in the Wurstelprater is set to spoil visitors' taste buds and ears

The Wurstelprater officially started its new summer season last Friday. Over 250 attractions await visitors to the oldest amusement park in the world. This year, however, they can look forward to some new additions - and there are quite a few of them.

One of them is located right in the heart of the Prater, at the former swan boat ride. A new spiegeltent has been standing here since fall 2023. However, the "Tritsch Tratsch" had to close again after just a few days due to distribution problems.

Now the new attraction wants to get off to a flying start with a new concept and has also given itself a new name. From the summer, the world-famous melodies of the waltz king Johann Strauss will be heard in the "Mirage". A three-course menu will be served in three bars to match. The performances will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Tickets cost around 100 euros, with the menus already included in the price.

As an initial warm-up, so to speak, there will be a public viewing of the European Football Championship at the venue from June. The big premiere will then take place on July 25. Philipp Grünbacher, who already manages the Vienna Mozart Orchestra, and Thomas Chang will act as managing directors.

As a year-round visitor magnet, the Prater is certainly flying high. With almost seven million visitors, last year even broke the visitor record.
