When children kill

The atrocity of a good and loving boy

In 2017, a 14-year-old boy from Vorarlberg stabbed his father to death. Seemingly for no reason - even psychiatrists can't find an explanation for the drama. "I don't know why I killed my dad either. Because I loved him," says the boy. What remains is a confused mother who doesn't want to believe in the evil in her child.

It was almost summery warm and the sun was shining on September 23, 2017 in the Vorarlberg Rhine Valley. And the sound of laughter could be heard from the morning in this pretty house on the outskirts of Götzis.

Andrea W. (50) was cooking a game dish, baking cakes and chilling drinks, while Thomas O. (52) and his two sons set up tables in the garden and laid them nicely. The older of the boys was celebrating his 18th birthday in the afternoon and relatives from Germany had registered to visit.
