Stadthalle sold out
“ACSL tickets are sold for double the price”
One more sleep, then it's that time again. The ACSL (Austrian College Sports League) opens its doors for the Basketball Finals 2024 on Saturday in Vienna's Stadthalle B. The event has been sold out for days, with tickets being offered for sale on "Willhaben" for more than double the price.
According to Managing Director and founder Lawrence Gimeno, it took just four days for the last ticket to change hands, meaning the Stadthalle is full with around 2,000 spectators. "The atmosphere will go through the roof," the WU graduate is convinced, "tickets are selling for more than double on Willhaben - that's how hot the seats are!"
New faces in the spotlight
From a sporting perspective, fans of the college league will be treated to a few treats both indoors and on TV. For example, the TU Robots women will be looking to finally crown themselves against the Uni Vienna Emperors after losing to the JKU Astros in the final last year. In the men's final, new faces will be in the spotlight this year. While the Robots and Emperors faced each other in 2023, this year the Boku Beez and WU Tigers will take to the floor.
Garnished with half-time shows, cheer dance interludes and musical accompaniment from the in-house ACSL Marching Band, the entertainment section will also be a top priority. As an additional treat, fans can look forward to an after-party directly in the hall. "The event and the subsequent party will outshine everything that has gone before," promises Gimeno, who is already looking forward to the day of the decision. "I am overjoyed that our hard work is bearing fruit and that college sport has truly arrived in Austria." Curtain up, stage set for the ACSL Basketball Finals 2024.
