Super-G in Kvitfjell
Bitter! ÖSV lady drops out after intermediate lead
Ariane Rädler had a scary moment at the super-G in Kvitfjell. The racer from Vorarlberg was still ahead of the leading Swiss racer Lara Gut-Behrami at the intermediate time, but then she got into difficulties and was able to artistically avoid a more serious fall.
Rädler had started the race well. At the second intermediate time, the light turned green. The skier from Vorarlberg had a lead of 17 hundredths over Gut-Behrami. She had made up four tenths compared to the first split time. But hopes of a sensation did not last long.
Only shortly after the time measurement, the 20-year-old lost control of her skis and had to save herself artistically. In the end, she avoided a more serious fall - but her elimination was unavoidable. Bitter for Rädler, who could have had a good result today.
