Everything seems so friendly, so peaceful - in this pretty detached house on the outskirts of a small town in Lower Austria. Sabine K. grew up here, there are pictures of her on shelves from her childhood, her youth; they show her at parties, on outings. With her parents, her brother; later with her child.

"We had a strong family bond for a long time," says her father Franz B. as he makes coffee in the comfortably furnished kitchen and then sits down at the dining table.

And he immediately begins to talk about the accusations against his daughter. "I will never understand how she could be capable of such atrocious acts," he says, wiping a few tears from his eyes.
